all graphic designers, what advice can you give me to make a recipe booklet!

Im using Adobe InDesign to create a cookbook as part of a school assignment. The aim is to demonstrate that it knows how to use the program well and can come up with creative ideas for the name, logo and overall design. Does anyone know any podcasts out there that will help the sites or just very good. or even better would be some love advice for designers graphics. I downloaded the Photoshop TV podcast, you know that the team of the 3 children who speak nothing new in Photoshop and give you advice, but it seemed to be a little useless since 90% of podcasts are told of garbage collection in each other's jokes and lame. im sorry if you read the photoshop haha this team, please SOMEBODY HELP IM in a urgent need!
First, InDesign is a page layout program, perfect for what they are doing. I will assume that includes the basics the program? You are gathering information and display it in the most useful for the viewer.
