
The Blind Side is a 2009 sports drama film written and directed by John Lee Hancock, and based on the 2006 book Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis. The story has Michael Oher, an offensive lineman who plays for the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. The film follows Oher their impoverished upbringings, through his years at Briarcrest Christian School, its adoption by Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, and its position as one of the most coveted prospects in college football
The film stars like Michael Quinton Aaron Oher and Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw as Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy, Oher's adoptive parents. Kathy Bates, co-stars as Miss Sue, professor Oher's. The film also with appearances by several former and current NCAA coaches, including Houston Nutt, Ed Orgeron, Phillip Fulmer, Nick Saban, Lou Holtz and Tommy Tuberville and recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
The film was partially filmed in Westminster Schools Atlanta International School in Atlanta, Georgia, and many characteristics of their students.
"The blind side" shows the true story of Michael Ober, a household of 25 years of a broken home, taken in the Tourhys, a well-do family that helps fulfill its potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the lives of Tourhys' leads some insightful self discovery of themselves. Living in his new environment, the 25-year-old faces a completely different set of challenges in court to overcome after "blindsiding" and then kill a player of 16 years in a team. As a football player and student, working Oher hard and, with the help of his coaches and the adoptive family and a great defense attorney becomes an All-American offensive left tackle. Michael Oher was living on the streets when it was received at the home of a conservative suburban family, but eventually matured into a talented athlete. As the NFL draft approaches, fans and celebrities radio sport speculate that Oher will be the hottest pick of the year. Sandra Bullock stars in a film written and directed by John Lee Hancock (The Rookie, The Alamo).
